Wristbands

When you are admitted to a hospital, they place on your wrist a white wristband with your name on it. But there are other different colored wristbands which symbolize other things. The red wristbands are placed on dead people.

There was one surgeon who worked on night shift in a school hospital. He had just finished an operation and was on his way down to the basement. He entered the elevator and there was just one other person there. He casually chatted with the woman while the elevator descended. When the elevator door opened, another woman was about to enter when the doctor slammed the close button and punched the button to the highest floor. Surprised, the woman reprimanded the doctor for being rude and asked why he did not let the other woman in.

The doctor said, “That was the woman I just operated on. She died while I was doing the operation. Didn’t you see the red wristband she was wearing?”

The woman smiled, raised her arm, and said, “Something like this?”

An old story, but one I keep coming back to because it gives me chills. The cutoff at the end adds suspense as we can only predict what may happen next. It leaves us hanging, I love it.

You could work on making the first paragraph more fluent, but great ending twist

I love it when someone notices something but doesn’t seem to notice what is right in front of them the whole time. I love twist endings in general just as long as they are done right and in my opinion this is amazing

Im not being mean or anything but to the people who say that this pasta is bad or not creepy, Just shut up its a nice pasta i think it should be read and remembered. In fact this pasta was the very first one i read so…Yeah dont be haters is good and i like that its old. Old pastas are (not to be mean) better then newer pastas….Just saying

It doesnt matter how old a pasta is. The whole to point to these sites is to entertain and fascinate the reader.
Sure YOU have seen and read this pasta a million times, but theyre are plenty who havent and it wouldnt be fair to take this pasta away from them simply because YOU have come across too many times.
This place is a collection of horror short stories and what better to belong in a collection than a classic?

Red wristbands are actually for allergies. They write your allergies on it.

I know its a classic, but the sentence
“The red wristbands are placed on dead people.
Kinda just could be the end of the pasta to me. It spoils it right there, and i could have told you how it ended before reading the next line.

I never heard of this one before, but it’s definitely a favorite now. Too bad the original author is anonymous! 10/10
